The process & the story becoming~
“My process resembles that of playtime. I sit down, put some music on, steep some tea and let whatever is about to happen unfold. I am a big believer in silencing your inner critic and allowing yourself to go on your entire journey before making a judgement. If it doesn't look good, then it simply is not yet finished. Many of my pieces, like my Mountain Mama piece, are mashups of different pieces made at different times, sometimes even years apart. All it takes is the right mood, or the fresh look to make a connection and see the right direction.”

“Thematically I focus on life in a ski town. I am inspired by the ski culture that surrounds me. Ski Culture is probably one of the most humorous cultures out there. The lengths people will go to get out on a powder day, to get that golden line is very admirable-- not to mention the many techniques used to carry one's skis from car to gondola. The general life and ways of the "Jerries" in town is an endless well of inspiration. Though ski culture is admittedly a main focus of mine I also create collections based on the beauty of the mountains as well as the badass women that surround me.”

“As far as mediums go, I honestly use any medium I can get my hands on! I love to mix medias, use digital tools as well as mashup different pieces I have made at different times in my life. Any chance I get to explore my creativity is one I relish. Stylistically I would say my artwork ends up being quirky, joyful and colorful. I prefer to keep an "anything goes" state of mind!”

“Living in Awe, to me, means allowing yourself to play around and explore/ learn new things everyday. To allow yourself the patience to practice and build a skill rather than believe that you can only spend time on the things you already excel at. Living in awe is throwing away your expectation and diving into an experience, laughing at the unexpected turns that learning brings. Allowing yourself the freedom to suck or make a fool of yourself so that you can grow and discovers things about yourself you would not have uncovered otherwise.”
